Jiang Zhuoer of BTC.TOP Takes Sides in Hash War

Jiang Zhuoer of BTC.TOP, a giant mining concern based in China, took to Twitter and announced he and his company would throw their considerable support behind the ABC implementation, now the currently trending BCH upgrade more ABC supporters are starting to insist is locked down and ready for a return to business as usual.

The Hash War, as it was dubbed by BCH SV proponents, kicked off Thursday, 15 November, with the scheduled upgrade that took on historic proportions as it became contentious, leading to a chain split. Though the two sides have jockeyed back and forth to mine blocks, it appears, as of this writing, ABC maintains dominance.

BCH SV insists the Hash War is far from over, and they’re currently involved in a massive stress test, using their vaunted Satoshi’s Shotgun to spam the network with transactions. SV maintains the ABC contingent has engaged in a fundamental changing of the BCH client, and is only “renting” hash power to give it an early, arbitrary lead.

Initial reaction to the Jiang Zhuoer tweet was met with relative cheers at least on his own thread, as might be expected. “Wow. A man who keeps his promise in the crypto world. Much respect,” wrote one comment. “Thank you. In a crazy space a man who keeps his word is a man who has my respect,” came another. “Thank You, you are a man of your word,” yet another chimed in.

The general tone of the community seems to be one of relief, with the tacit hope the Hash War will be coming to an end, decided soon. Appreciation such as “Thank You @JiangZhuoer for adding your hash to #BCH again,” and  “Amazing!,” “Well done,” “Thank you” littered his feed. One comment appears to summarize sentiment, “Thank you. I’ve had very mixed feelings about the fork but keeping your word to help end the chaos is the right thing to do.”

Jiang Zhuoer has been very active in writing about the pending and ongoing Hash War. He’s openly hinted at ABC supporter Bitmain having in excess of 20,000 P hashrate, 20 exahash, basically two times more than SV. “Mining pools under Bitmain (such as BTC.com and Antpool) collectively have 15,000 P hashrate. With ViaBTC where Bitmain is a shareholder, the entity has 20,000 P hashrate altogether,” he explained. He was most likely the source of continued rumors of more than 90,000 miners would be eventually employed by Bitmain to back ABC. “If Bitmain is using the hashrate of BTC to start a hash war and this would be the epitome of ‘survival of the fittest,’” he insisted.
