Bitcoin SV Child Porn Image Story Goes Mainstream
The BBC has picked up a story previously reported by CoinSpice about the Bitcoin SV blockchain being used as a repository for child abuse images. Jimmy Nguyen, head of nChain, the Bitcoin SV partner company, commented they will exert a “zero tolerance” policy against criminals using the ledger for such activity. This happened as a result of the increase in the size of the data that can be embedded in the blockchain, a change rival developers warned about. BSV dropped out of the top ten cryptos by market cap, but, as of the time of writing, has since rebounded.
Software Executive Steals $1 Million in ATM Exploit
Qin Qisheng, a software executive from the Huaxia Bank in China, has been found guilty of theft. Almost $1 million dollars was stolen by exploiting a little-known loophole in the ATM software. The executive discovered operations made almost at midnight were not being registered by the ATM. He then wrote scripts to let him take advantage and transact random amounts of money to an account on the same bank under his management. ATMs are not secure, even from inside attacks.
Coinbase Ads Bitcoin Support to its Wallet
The Coinbase wallet has, at last, added bitcoin support and Segwit addresses, according to an announcement on their blog. Their wallet already supports ethereum, ethereum classic and also ethereum tokens. You have your private keys with this wallet, so the cryptocurrency stored here are yours only. Coinbase wallet is also preparing support for Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and other cryptocurrencies in the near future.

In what they’re calling a revolutionary platform, the company is including more than 150 countries to invest in classical stocks like Apple and Google, from amounts as low as 5%. They are using a simple platform that uses a pretty convoluted backend to achieve functionality, according to reports. This opens investing to a whole lot of people who would not have the opportunity.
Upfiring, a New Bittorrent dApp is Live
Upfiring is a BitTorrent decentralized application (dApp) platform that presents the advantage of earning cryptocurrencies, while seeding and sharing files in their network, has gone live. Using BitTorrent technology, it rewards users for seeding popular files with their native token, called UFR. The token is available on 10 exchanges already, and they are going to expand even more now that their Mainnet is up and running.
Bitcoin is Becoming More Decentralized
An investigation from a Canadian financial firm, Canaccord Genuity Group, found the bitcoin network has become more decentralized when talking about mining pools. Back in 2014, just one pool centralized most of the mining (GHash.IO). But now, there are many more mining pools, and no one controls more than 20 percent of the hashrate on average, minimizing the probability of a 51% attack.
