Justin Sun, the founder of TRON, has taken advantage of his temporary ownership of the Lightning Torch to raise awareness about ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, by donating $250,000 in Tron to the ALS Association under the motto #VoiceYourLove. He also motivated Vitalik Buterin and Changpeng Zhao to donate. Binance announced they were donating $150,000 to the cause of finding a cure to this disabling disease that also took the life of Hal Finney, one of the pioneers of Bitcoin.
Number of Bitcoin ATMs Has Doubled Every Year
A new investigation discovered the number of Bitcoin ATMs has almost doubled every year since 2014. Even with the high fees some of these machines charge, they are becoming more and more popular, and companies are working to satisfy demand. As of now, there are more than 4,000 Bitcoin ATMs working and functioning in the world, according to numbers from Coin ATM Radar.
Reddit Users are Not as Valuable
Reddit users are less valuable than those of other social networks like Facebook or Twitter, according to a new Reddit funding round. The average revenue per user, the amount of money the company has won per user, is $0.30, a lot less than rival social platforms. However, Reddit is pointing its efforts to younger users who will probably be worth more in the future (half of their users are between 18 and 24 years old).
Crypto Psychic Predicts Bitcoin Prices for Fee
Sharon Michelle, a woman who claims to have psychic power to predict the future and talk with spirits, is now offering cryptocurrency predictions for a fee. The woman, who lives in Texas, claims spirits tell her in which cryptocurrency she must invest. She is now offering personalized investing assistance in exchange for 15 dollars per month as a subscription model. “You will always be first to receive any information I receive from my guides concerning the crypto market, coins and buy and sell times,” she declared.
Jiang Zhuoer Thinks Next Goal for Bitcoin is to Increase Supply
Jiang Zhuoer, the founder of BTC.top mining pool, declared in his Weibo page he thinks the next step in the evolution of Bitcoin is to increase the fixed supply of 21,000,000 million bitcoin and stop the traditional reward halving, mentioning Grin as an experiment to examine a possible outcome. He posted, “This is a long-held plan for Bitcoin Core camp to increase bitcoin supply, and now they just try to know the bitcoin community’s response to it by sparking the debate.”
PayCoin Founder Josh Garza sentenced To 21 Months In Jail
Homero Joshua Garza, founder of PayCoin, has been sentenced to 21 months in jail for the crime of cryptocurrency fraud, and was ordered to repay investors. Garza said previously claimed investors had 100 million dollars to back up the creation of PayCoin, guaranteeing the currency price would never go down beyond a certain point. This, however, was a lie, and their investors lost $9 million approximately. He also led another scam consisting of a mining pool that never took off.
