Bitcoin Cash Pioneer Jonald Fyookball Speaks: Past, Present, Future of Crypto

TL;DR: Jonald Fyookball is probably best known for the tools he’s helped to create, and especially for the Electron Cash wallet. It was the first so-called lite wallet, SPV wallet, to be forked from Electrum specifically for Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Fyookball is also an accomplished essayist, and his missives are routinely fired around the web by those wanting to get a better handle on the BCH project. What he almost never does is give podcast interviews. Bitcoin Cash Pioneer Jonald Fyookball Speaks

Fyookball is both strident and partisan. You always know where he stands. Nothing coy about the dude. But he’s also a sober thinker, one willing to admit when he’s made a mistake, one willing to consider other sides to an issue.

That kind of sobriety has served him well in the more than half a decade he’s spent actively in the world Satoshi created. We talk about Fyookball’s gradual acceptance of what Bitcoin might mean way back in 2013, and work through why he might’ve been attracted to the idea in the first place.

We then revisit the scaling debates and tangent into Lightning Network for a minute, but end up discussing the November 2018 contentious hard fork and why he thinks it could turn somewhat positive after all for BCH.

He’s now settled-in as a development leader within the BCH community, and has a hand either directly or as an advisor in numerous related projects. Hopefully this episode helps round out Fyookball a bit, and places him in the historic context he deserves. A fun conversation.
