TL;DR: Matt Aaron is guest on this episode of The CoinSpice Podcast. He’s a unique figure in the cryptocurrency ecosystem simply because he’s interviewed nearly everyone of importance in the space through his work on the Bitcoin.com Podcast Network. We caught up with Aaron, and turned the microphone on him, giving listeners an intimate look at the man who has become known as Bitcoin’s Larry King, our Oprah Winfrey. It’s available embedded in the individual article or through: YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, RadioPublic, Breaker, PocketCasts.
Matt Aaron is Bitcoin’s Larry King and Oprah Winfrey
You know his voice. It’s probably the one you’ve heard after clicking on a tantalizing podcast interview you were dying to hear. It’s Matt Aaron, host at the Bitcoin.com Podcast Network.
Since joining in late 2017, Aaron has grown the podcast network from a sleepy, occasional publication schedule to a full-fledged regular set of shows. There’s the weekly news summary (This Week in Bitcoin curated by Kai Sedgwick), a longer format and more personal show, and a technical look at the space with Blake Moore (Aaron references a fun Blockchain 2025 show on eye health).
Guests are among the most influential in the space. CoinSpice wanted to get at the story behind the man, well, behind the microphone. We found out he’s an avid reader, and a devotee of gurus like Robert Greene and Tim Ferriss, as well as Neil Strauss and Tynan, all of whom Aaron references in this episode.
His journey into media is a crazy one, and at some point he ends up in Colombia, and didn’t speak much Spanish at the time. He discusses how that happened, and how it led him to do podcasting. From there, we talk about the vagaries of running a show, mistakes we’ve made, and the personalities in the space.
Recorded Friday, 18 January 2019. About 30 minutes long.
