TL;DR: Cryptocurrency exchange Voltaire launched its CashBack program. It’s a way to reward traders by allowing them to earn bitcoin cash (BCH) while using the platform. The company claims “this is the first time an exchange has used an explicit fee structure to pass on all trading fees to users for maker orders executed.”
Voltaire Offers Ability to Earn Bitcoin Cash (BCH) with Each Trade
“We chose Bitcoin Cash because we believe it’s the most efficient and fastest technology to use for payments and trading,” Voltaire’s founder Semyon Germanovich insisted. “I’m proud and excited by the sustained level of innovation coming out of the Bitcoin Cash community. One technology we’re working to integrate is Gabriel Cardona’s Badger Wallet. When coupled with zero confirmation compatibility we can completely revolutionise trading UX.”
The CashBack payout is 0.2% of the value of each maker order filled. It’s “currently live on our BSV/BCH and BTC/BCH trading pairs, and soon will be available for ETH/BCH and LTC/BCH,” the exchange noted further.
When the order is traded against, the user’s balance is credited in the currency traded. “Alice is selling 1 BTC at a price of 10 BCH,” for example, and “Bob creates a buy order to purchase 1 BTC from Alice. In this trade, Alice receives 10 BCH, plus some CashBack coins in BTC. The CashBack currency is BTC, as this was the currency Alice used to create her order,” Voltaire explained. Coins are deducted from the taker of the order, which is used to finance the program.
The London-based exchange was founded by Germanovich, 21, who counts himself a Bitcoiner from as far back as 2013. Voltaire began as a result of funding from the entrepreneurial incubator, “Think, Try it, Do” at the University of Exeter. He and partner Jamahl McMurran appeared on the CoinSpice podcast last year to explain their starting an exchange based around BCH just as the-then Hash War was heating. The exchange is offering its CashBack campaign for a limited time.
