TL;DR: “Police raids at #Tron offices in Beijing?” CoinSpice’s Hayden Otto posted to Twitter, asking context for the cryptocurrency community. “Additionally, there’s many angry people gathered there who are saying things like ‘Tron is a scam.'” The video clip has since gone viral, and TRON founder Justin Sun responded, compelled to address the post directly. Up until Otto’s public investigation, the entire affair had been ghettoized to a Chinese-language WeChat group.
Justin Sun Responded to CoinSpice Video
“A number of people attempted to enter the office of Raybo technology,” Sun posted as a comment to Otto’s tweet, “a partner of TRON in mainland China. v/Video on the internet show scenes of the incident and the police response that removed them and secured the office.”
Sun then pointed to a Medium blog post, attempting to place the video in its proper context after Otto questioned (notice his punctuation in the first line) whether police were there as part of a raid, which doesn’t seem to be an inappropriate line of inquiry considering people gathered were quoted as being hostile and angry.

“Early on July 8, 2019, Beijing time,” the TRON Foundation explained, “a number of people attempted to enter the office of Beijing research and development center of Raybo technology, a partner of TRON in mainland China. Pictures and video circulating on the internet show scenes of the incident and the police response that removed them and secured the office.”
The official-official statement came just below, claiming those gathered were indeed protesters “deceived by the so-called ‘Wave Field Super Community’ scheme that traded on its similarity to the Chinese-language version of TRON’s name to defraud investors. The victims had been promised high rates of return on their investments in the name of TRON, BitTorrent and uTorrent.” The nature of the scam, TRON’s involvement, and how close Raybo is to any of it remain open for investigation. CoinSpice will update this story as facts become available.
