LG Launching Blockchain-Friendly Phones Soon


LG, the Korean electronics behemoth, is going to launch blockchain-friendly phones soon to tap into the crypto phone market where Samsung, its closest rival, has already a solid presence. A source in the company said LG wanted to respond to Samsung’s offer with more innovation, but also commented they were “struggling to apply blockchain to smartphones without any dissimilarity.” However, the market research for this endeavor has already been completed, and phones with these capabilities will be launched shortly.

Line Cryptocurrency Exchange Gets Approved


Japan-based messaging platform Line announced they gained the required permission to run a cryptocurrency exchange business. The Line messaging app will now integrate a series of cryptocurrency-related apps and exchange services called BitBox in Japan, targeting more than 80 million monthly users. However, the process was not easy, and industry insiders think these new regulations and adoption of the FATF guidelines will surely hit future businesses trying to get similar permission.

Wesley Snipes to Tokenize $25 Million Movie Fund


Wesley Snipes, the famous actor, will tokenize a $25 million dollar movie fund to help him allocate production funding for upcoming films. The actor partnered with the Liechtenstein security token exchange to manage the technical part of the STO offer, called the Daywalker Movie fund, or DMF. The token will also be called DMF, and through blockchain technology will let investors get a part of the profit from the movie IP and TV productions, and enjoy exclusive benefits like tickets to movie premieres.

Brave Browser is the Most Downloaded Android Browser in Japan

Brave, the token-enabled internet browser, just keeps growing, and as an example, it has become in the number one downloaded Android browser in an important market like Japan. According to Google Play numbers, Brave was downloaded 2 million times recently vs Firefox, who only received 553K downloads, rising 11 places on the top free communications apps in Japan list.

Upbit Releases Investment Warning for Some Crypto Assets

Upbit, a cryptocurrency exchange, issued an investment warning of some cryptocurrency assets they think could not comply with FATF’s (Financial Action Task Force) upcoming regulations. The exchange will take a week to “elucidate” every crypto asset on the list published, and if some do not fulfill all the conditions they will be retired from their platform. The assets that will be reviewed so far are Monero, Dash, Zcash, Haven, Bitube, PIVX.
