“The McAfee 2020 [President of the United States] Campaign website is now live. We currently have approximately 1,000 volunteers. We need more,” John McAfee posted. The website’s front and center slogan is, “Don’t Vote McAfee,” and marks the eccentric philosopher and security software magnate’s more formal entrance into the Libertarian Party primary.
John McAfee Launches 2020 Presidential Campaign Website
“My campaign platform contains one item: how do we free ourselves from a government that no longer serves us, but instead has become our master – controlling our every action, down to the detail of what we may or may not put into our bodies and minds,” his platform page reads.
Referring to the US political party duopoly as “an illusion,” he continued to insist the government has become a burden needing to be lifted. “While we carry the burden of this government we are not free,” McAfee stressed.
The platform is unusual for several reasons, but not least of which is its anarchic spirit, its realism. Problems considered on a national level will never be solved for a variety of reasons, according to the platform, as the government has gone “insane.”
I Have No Idea
“So do not ask me about immigration, foreign relations, education etc. I have no idea. Those claiming that they do are lying to themselves, or if not, they are purposely lying to you. We must first be free. Freedom for The People is my only goal,” McAfee continued.
The campaign appears to be educational in nature. By grabbing media attention, something he is very, very good at doing, he “does not seek the power of John McAfee. It is the power of the individual – the power in each of us – this is the only fire that can become large enough to consume the blight on our land. This campaign is about YOU, and claiming ownership over your person and your destiny,” the website noted.
The site lists suggestions for how to help spread the word. One way is to join the campaign’s Discord. Organic calls and emails to media, encouraging their coverage, is yet another avenue of support. “The larger outlets may not respond directly to you, but make no mistake: they are seeing them. If enough people express this desire, it will force them to at least consider the possibility,” the site claimed.
Learn About Cryptocurrency
Terming it a “major focus of the 2020 campaign,” crypto is something McAfee feels is of upmost importance. It seems to fit nicely with his notions of individualism and a kind of maximum personal freedom.
“We believe that cryptocurrency offers a unique historical opportunity to the individual – a chance to liberate one’s self, without violence, and to become more free. Money drives everything in this world, and represents the strongest of the chains bound upon us by out-of-control government. We aim to break that chain for as many people as possible by helping them become familiar and comfortable with a technology that can empower them to do it,” the final suggestion urged.
The campaign is also concerned about basic crypto literacy. “Therefore, if you are out stumping for McAfee 2020, it helps if you are as informed as possible about these issues, and eager to discuss them with others,” the site encouraged.
