Subreddit /r/btc user redpepper261 created a live video stream on Twitch.tv, allowing viewers to interact with an Iozeta CryptoCandy machine filled with chicken feed. By way of the Handcash.io handle, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) enthusiasts can sign up to send fifty cents to “give the chickens a treat,” and then “watch them go crazy for mealworms!” It’s a fun way to demonstrate the power of peer-to-peer, electronic cash.
Watch Chickens Peck Away at Feed Sent Automatically Paid for with Bitcoin Cash
“0-conf enabled 😀 just fed them,” an /r/btc comment alterted. “Nice! Thanks for setting it up. Great fun demo,” another praised. A veteran chicken feeder explained, “I’ve fed chickens before but this was easily the most fun I’ve had doing it. Thanks for setting this up. :).”
A main argument for those who promote BCH is to show its seemingly never-ending utility. Use cases remain as involving every user being their own bank. The killer application aspect is a digital, permissionless, borderless currency, censorship resistant, cheap and reliable to use.
Another user gushed, “get THE FUCK out of here. Hahahahahahahahaa. I just fed the chickens. What a hilarious idea. It really was instant, must have been about 5 seconds later the food came out.You must be making bank dude, it’s so fucking rewarding to watch. I think i’m gonna send another haha.”
As of this writing, redpepper261 has earned just a tick more than $250, enough “to keep the chickens fed even after this is over lol,” another comment noted. “I am covering expenses, however mealworms don’t come cheap,” redpepper261 shot back.
One comment waxed philosophical, “It’s funny to think that we have NO idea which will be the killer app for Bitcoin Cash which takes it absolutely VIRAL. Ok, maybe this is not it but it may be something just as wacky and crazy.” Another viewer noticed, “I’m not only impressed that you got this crypto-to-chicken feeder working and streaming for vast entertainment value, but that you also had the foresight to snag the $CHICKEN handle.”
At the very least, the demonstration shows how easy it is to use the Handcash app. “I love the Handcash app. I hope my chickens can introduce new comers to this simple wallet, giving a warm first peer-to-chicken experience,” repepper261 answered. “So cool. I don’t even have to register or login to Twitch. Can you see how big this is? True peer to peer cash!” an admirer noted.
