Trust Machine is the new documentary film by Alex Winter, director of crypto community favorites such as Downloaded and Deep Web. At the Los Angeles premiere, CoinSpice.io caught up with one of the film’s producers, Kim Jackson of SingularDTV. She gives insight into the company’s plans going forward and why they chose Winter and Trust Machine to tell the story of blockchain. She’s our third in a series of interviews from principals of the film.
Trust Machine Producer Kim Jackson on Blockchain Media and its Future
Kim Jackson of SingularDTV is on a mission to promote content creators, handing back to them control of their craft along with transparency to how the broader media and entertainment industry operate. Her passion is doing all of that through distributed ledger technology, blockchain.
CoinSpice.io managed to snag her for a few minutes at the premiere of the company’s latest project, Trust Machine, a documentary film about all the ways the tech undergirding cryptocurrency is changing the world. It’s a compelling narrative, and considering SingularDTV’s being in that exact and very nascent wildcat world the choice to also highlight blockchain-related scams and concerns was a bold one, and a decision we on the currency side of things really appreciate.
And as peer-to-peer, decentralized, electronic cash advocates we cover the hype and silliness of “blockchain technology.” However, it’s important not to throw out the technological baby with the snarky bathwater. SingularDTV is producing actual content, and Trust Machine is real world proof, a use case demonstrating its power — so meta it can be dizzying.
Jackson is rightly proud of the company’s work, and was keen to point out other projects of note, from a tokenizing platform to collabs with electronic dance music artists, and all of it being done through an extended and very bear market.
