TL;DR: Superstar developer Jonald Fyookball is back to talk about his latest effort at greater transaction privacy and fungibility, CashFusion. It has been in the works for a while by dev standards, but is starting to get a real buzz inside and out of the Bitcoin Cash community. This episode is available embedded in the article below, and on iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Radio Public, Breaker, PocketCasts, PodBean, YouTube for Newer Episodes, YouTube Older Episodes, and Overcast.
Bitcoiners Across the Ecosystem are Excited About CashFusion
Few people in cryptocurrency are better versed in every aspect of the ecosystem than Jonald Fyookball. He’s respected across projects and coins for his steady hand, go-getter attitude, and wise counsel. Fyookball is not only a developer. He’s also a thought leader, posting often about controversies and how to address them.
He was there at the start of BTC’s most successful fork, Bitcoin Cash, and has seen it through its toughest times, helping to birth applications such as the well-regarded Electron Cash wallet and privacy tools like CashShuffle.
To truly give cryptocurrency its cash-like properties, it must have a sense of transactional privacy. Other privacy-specific coins such as Monero have proved hard to use and easy for governments and regulators to outright ban and spot. And, frankly, consumers and users might not want anonymity for some purposes.
Solutions are getting more complex, more elegant on Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Fyookball is right at the heart of innovation along with developer Mark Lundeberg. Meet CashFusion. It’s still in private alpha as of our recording, but the hope for it is very promising and includes a beta release this year which could have Tor integration and ways to run it in a wallet’s background.
