TL;DR: It has been a lifetime in the cryptocurrency sense since we last spoke to developer, philosopher, Tokenbrian Explosion theorist Gabriel Cardona. At that point in time, just before the 15 November 2018 Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hard fork, it was bleak, dark, worrisome. So many events, changes happened. Cardona has been witness and participant to them all, and returns to recap some of that history, but to also discuss tokens on the BCH chain. This episode is available embedded in the article below, and on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Radio Public, Breaker, PocketCasts, PodBean, and Overcast.
Tokenomics On BCH: SLP, Badger, & Singularity with Gabriel Cardona
Speaking with developer Gabriel Cardona is a lot like visiting an old friend — a really, really smart friend. He can pivot instantly into almost any topic, game to contribute, eager to listen. It’s probably why he is so successful.
We were able to catch up with him in-between stops, hopping from San Francisco to Tokyo, where he heads development out at Bitcoin.com. Asked to commemorate World Book Day, Cardona goes in-depth on a favorite author and thinker, and you’re going to want to instantly go out and buy a copy.
From there, we get into the token idea, and contemplate why there is resistance, albeit mild, within aspects of the BCH community to tokens. The focus from the network’s birth has been to bring peer-to-peer electronic cash to the world. How do tokens further this idea? At about the 20 minute mark, Cardona boils down the essence of his argument.
