Porn Pays You to Watch: Meet xHoneyBadger

We at CoinSpice are manly men. We don’t watch porn because we’re too busy being with great looking ladies. Not that there’s anything wrong with you watching, but we’re out building log cabins, growing beards, flatulating. Manly stuff. For those interested in something we’ve never seen and know nothing about, we managed to track down the CEO of xHoneyBadger, an online adult startup claiming to pay viewers while they enjoy babes getting oil derricked. Buttholes and bitcoin! Again, we wouldn’t know anything about this subject because we’re too occupied with planking and crossfit and cage fighting.

We Don’t Watch Porn, So You’ll Have to Check Yourself

Skepticism is the basis of good journalism. Most news writers are lazy, rewriting from other sources someone else did all the legwork for, and then taking credit. They rarely check sources or follow up.

With that in mind, xHoneyBadger CEO Elise de Loos fell into our spicy laps. Presented as a female executive in the online porn industry, we just couldn’t pass up the chance. Because none of us at CoinSpice are familiar, at all, with pornography, we attempted to schedule de Loos as a guest on our podcast, Milk.

Ms. de Loos answered, “Hi Edward, I’m unexpectedly out of office and not able to do a call. Can we do it in writing?” Now, nothing about that is wrong or untoward. CEOs are hella busy, and to sit in one place and answer questions from some idiot (me) is probably way down the list of important tasks.

Skeptical, Very

Ms. de Loos

If it’s later revealed de Loos is a dude trying to push the whole ‘we are very evolved as we have a female executive so that makes porn okay’ narrative, just remember where you read it first. Putting that aside, Ms. de Loos was kind enough to give us some time in order to find out more about this online porn phenomenon, something we’re totally uninterested in and completely unfamiliar with.

CoinSpice: How did you get involved with crypto?

Elise de Loos: I read an article about bitcoin being digital money and how it probably was a scam. Later I noticed more and more businesses accepting bitcoin as money, which prompted me to buy some. Then Bitcoin Cash happened and the best way we thought of to support Bitcoin as digital cash was by accepting it as money. That’s how cryptonize.it started out.

Looks like xHoneyBadger is a cool way to test a payment solution.

As cofounder of CashPay Solutions, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to new projects being built like the CashPay wallet and colored coins. The idea is to share value with the one generating it, the user. Porn is the first iteration (because it’s porn😉), the vision is to build out a platform which rewards users for the value they generate in all kinds of ways, with all kinds of content.

Trust-Based Semi-Stable Coin

Ah, so it does tie in?

xHoneyBadger ties in to almost all other projects we’re working on. As a software company, our goal is to simplify participating in the bitcoin eco-system. If xHoneyBadger results in new users, it also has a positive impact on the other projects and vice versa.

How is it going so far?

The only publication we made was a Reddit announcement because we haven’t settled on a token solution yet. That resulted in a couple thousand of visits and tokens rewarded over the past few days.

Porn Pays You to Watch: Meet xHoneyBadgerViewers get tokens?

Basically, you watch porn and get a token (XHB) for every video you watch. This token gives you a share of the monthly ad-revenue.

You can also use the token to buy Amazon gift cards, making the token a trust-based semi-stable coin because you can always redeem it at 1/100 of an Amazon dollar. Additionally, you could trade it with friends like collectibles. You can read more about how it works on https://xhoneybadger.com/how-it-works

Any plans to incorporate bitcoin cash (BCH)?

We plan to offer exclusive content which can be paid with Bitcoin Cash.

*************************UPDATE*************************

Turns out, Elise is a good sport. When a reader complained the article was unfair to her, I messaged her and immediately apologized. “Hi Edward, it didn’t offend me at all, funny how you are skeptical,” Ms. de Loos warmly responded. She’s a pro.

The reader White Knighted, insisting, “Elise just sent me the article and was fine with what was written, she laughed at your writer’s identity doubts. I have to say, I’m kinda disappointed in the skepticism. She didn’t know it would be a podcast, it was supposed to be an interview. Feels like a nasty way of ambushing someone into something, the good old bait and switch. Also, people met Elise in Tokyo at Satoshi Vision, people work with her daily, she worked her butt off to get this going and I feel she doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment.”

It does appear Ms. de Loos understands a (failed) attempt at humor, and is confident enough in her product to go with the silliness of tokenizing masturbatory imagery and how we’re all living in an incredibly odd, exciting world. Check out xHoneyBadger if for no other reason than they’re good people who get it. And I mean it.
