More Spice: BCH Devcon Delivers Crazy Great Innovations
Crypto Analyst Alex Fauvel
Alex Fauvel joined Hayden Otto for an interview at the end of the second, in a hackathon series, BCH DevCon. The Amsterdam event was hosted by BTC.com and PermissionLess Ventures, and roughly 100 hackers attended.
The two days yielded a dozen projects, and quite a few of them were based around MoneyButton. Fauvel describes it as the “perfect” example for what a business can do on the Bitcoin Cash network.
Beyond Just a Currency
Both men agreed on the main priority being adoption of BCH, and that the innovations would eventually come as more people were on the network. He describes the scene in Amsterdam as being particularly tough due to its near universal adoption of Bitcoin Core (BTC) just before prices bottomed out in late 2017.
He reveals a large misinformation campaign has been waged, and tells of the community having to start from less than zero … almost going backwards to get folks caught up on BCH happenings. Favuel is keen to contrast that with the goings-on in parts of Australia, which has greatly taken to Bitcoin Cash.
